Art Retreat: From Marrakech to Frieze London

For Frieze London 2026, Broadwick Soho has created a special Art Retreat shaped around the fair, the hotel's own collection and the creative world around it. At the heart of the stay is Collecting as a Gesture of Care, a workshop with Moroccan artist Rita Alaoui. Her practice explores ecology, memory and the passage of time through material and gesture.

During the retreat, you will have access to Frieze London and Frieze Masters, take a private tour of Broadwick Soho's collection with our Art Curator Jonathan Brook, and gather afterwards for cocktails and canapés at Flute. The stay also includes dinner at Dear Jackie with one of Broadwick Soho's Founding Friends.

Workshop with Rita Alaoui

Collecting as a Gesture of Care

Rita Alaoui is a Moroccan artist living between Paris and Morocco whose practice moves between drawing, painting, performance, collected objects and large-scale murals, exploring nature as a space of care and resistance, shaped by time, memory and renewal.

For Broadwick Soho's Art Retreat, Rita brings this approach to London with Collecting as a Gesture of Care, a one-day workshop where participants will explore natural forms and gathered materials through drawing, focusing on texture, scale and observation using black ink and coloured pastels. Participants are invited to slow down, look closely and reconnect with the living world.

Dinner with one of our founders

Broadwick Soho was conceived by a group of five friends, led by owner Noel Hayden.

On Saturday evening, you will be invited to Dear Jackie, our restaurant on the lower ground floor, for a relaxed dinner hosted by one of our Founders. The evening will include a three course dinner, accompanied by wines selected by our sommelier.

Taking place after Rita Alaoui's workshop, the dinner offers a natural close to the Art Retreat. A chance to gather around the table and continue the conversation at an unhurried pace.
